The Greatest of All Loves
C.S. Lewis called Agape the greatest of all loves. It means loving someone even though they may not love you back. It means loving them unconditionally. That is the sort of love God has for us, and when we become Christians, Jesus teaches us to show this Agape love for others. We need your help to create Agape materials for the weekend. Below are some guidelines:
Letters - We welcome letters from adults and children. These short notes of encouragement should be addressed to “Dear Incarcerated Brother or Sister (as appropriate for the unit)” Then to write a short note of encouragement. Note: all envelopes must be left unsealed. SIGN UP TO HELP!
Prayer Chain and posters
Prayer Chains - We need your prayers. A paper prayer chain is a visible manifestation of the people praying for the weekend. For each person who is praying we add your first name and last initial only, the state where you live, and any message of encouragement you might offer (optional). Financial Donations - We typically spend about $150 per inmate for food and other materials during the weekend. Some units require us to rent tents, generators, and other equipment as well! So Jubilee needs the financial support of the Christian Community. We have no paid staff and 100% of all donations go directly to supporting the weekend activity.
